- The days feature staying race was able to be run for a stake of $60,000 thanks to the efforts of the Marlborough Racing Club and their sponsors KAM Transport who with NZTR contributed over and above the base funding of $40,000. Good Tapanui galloper MR INTELLIGENCE relished dropping 2kg and ran out a decisive winner for owners and trainers Barrie and Nikki Blatch and another Wingatui rider in Jacob Lowry.
