  • The Banks Peninsula Racing Club ran the third day of the Summer racing Season at Riccarton Park. Unlike past years the meeting was held on a Wednesday instead of the Saturday. A twilight program was run.

  • The C S Stevens Memorial Banks Peninsula Cup was held for the printers over the 1100 metres. SOUTH OF HOUSTON for local trainer Terri Rae and visiting rider Leah Hemi defeated LA BELLA NERA and BELLUCCI.

  • Balcairn trained LOMBARDI hinted he will be a force to be reckoned with in autumn staying assignments winning the Rangiora Equine Services open handicap over 1600 metres. Leah Hemi was again the rider for trainer Bruce Smith.

  • Riccarton Park trainer Kezia Murphy gave CJC Commercial Manager Chris Rowe, Board member Phil Blacktopp and fellow trainer John Blackadder something to cheer about preparing MOUSSAIEFF to win the Tim Dyer Bayleys Real Estate Rating 75 over the 2000 metres distance. Ther win was one of two on the program for Riccarton apprentice Donovan Cooper.
