- The third day of the Riccarton Park Summer Season was managed by the Banks Peninsula Racing Club and comprised 11 races.
- The CS Stevens Banks Peninsula Cup was the days feature over the 1100 metres distance. The Te Akau Racing product INSATIABLE was even money favourite to beat a small but handy field of open sprinters. Tristan Moodley, now Canterbury domiciled, rode the winner for the Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson training partnership.
- PROFESSIONAL LAD was another short-priced favourite who rewarded punters in the last race. The quality three-year-old was two classy for a rating 65 field over 1600 metres. Regular visitor from Palmerston North Leah Hemi rode for top Riccarton Park trainer Terri Rae.
- It was the partnership’s third winner on the programme after AKENEHI had taken the Fiona Stuart Memorial Rating 75 2000 metres race two races earlier and CONTEMPLATION BAY the TAB Southern Alps Golden Ticket Races the Rating 75 over 1400 metres.
