- The highlight of the last day of the Riccarton Park 2023/24 season was the Red Nose Cure Kids Raceday. South Island Engagement lead Will Hall sold out the Balmerino Room and created a most entertaining event for the most worthwhile charity.
- On the track Canterbury trainer Richard Didham had the best day of his career preparing three winners. LA CERVEZA in the Adroy Capital Maiden, ANALYST in the next race the Smiths Trade & Commercial Rating 60 and CHAIRMAN in the Gift Station Rating 75.
- Not far behind him was the Club’s Commercial Manager Chris Rowe who was involved in the ownership of two winners, MOUSSAIEFF in the Wet & Forget Maiden, Race 1 and he then bookended the programme with JUNE BUG in the Sedgwick Rating 65. The later was a welcome return to training by Michael Stokes. Kezia Murphy prepared MOUSSAIEFF after the gelding was transferred to her to remedy some wayward manners.
- Donovan Cooper rode MOUSSAIEFF to draw level with Yogesh Atchamah as leading South Island apprentices for the season.
- Champion rider Warren Kennedy rode two winners as did Ashvin Goindasamy.
