  • Feature racing on the second Polytrack meeting of the year attracted strong fields of 109 starters at an average of 12.1.

  • The open sprint went to the Matthew and Michael Pitman trained MOTIONTIME in the hands of stable apprentice Ohara Najib. Topweight and Polytrack specialist TUMUCH was game running second ahead of another synthetic specialist GEMMA FLITZ.

  • Good stayer STAR BALLOT was a second winner for the Pitman’s taking out the Rating 75 staying race over 2200 metres. Anna Furlong’s INCREDIBLE and CHAMPAGNE LINDA trained at Ascot Park by Robert Dennis filled the minor placings.

  • Lyn Prendergast was another to train a brace of winners with ENTERPRISE in the Rating 65 1200 metres sprint and HEARTBREAKER earlier in the day in the 1600 metres maiden.

  • ENTERPRISE was ridden by northern apprentice Jack Taplin who was the sole rider to win more than one race on the programme also winning aboard DIMAGGIO in the last for young West Melton trainer Nayton Mitchell.
