Alyssa returns on Miraqua for Danny Frye
- As the Polytrack season winds down attention rightly turns to spring racing on the turf. A seven-race programme of lower grade racing took place at the 10th meeting of the 2026 Polytrack season to complement the Saturday turf programme.
- For one young lady it did not matter what the surface, the day was hers. Alyssa Parris and her employer Lance Robinson have long awaited her chance to ride on raceday. Three weeks ago, on the middle day of the Grand National Festival she rode into second place as an Amateur, she had since been granted her apprenticeship and at her second ride in that capacity rode her first winner. Her good supporter Balcairn trainer Danny Frye entrusted her to partner MIRAQUA in the Rating 60 1400 and the six-year-old gelding prevailed to give Alyssa that first win.
- At the other end of the spectrum former New Zealand recorded holder for the most winning rides, David Walsh, prepared a brace of winners as a trainer for consecutive Polytrack meetings. AYMUI won the Entain / NZB Insurance Pearl Series race over 1200 metres and LA VOISIN took out the last race on the programme.
- Ashlee Strawbridge rode LA VOISIN to give her a treble of winning rides on the day, having ridden AYUMI and ROCA MILE for Aylesbury trainer Richard Didham.
