Polytrack Racing - Day 2 Review - 15 May
Parsons train four winners on bumper feature day
May 16, 2025
Miss Brittany post race.
  • A bumper 11 race card was held on the Polytrack on Thursday 15 May. Two of the races abandoned on Thursday1 May were added to the Feature meeting at $20,000 and the rating 65 16000 had a consolation also at $20,000.

  • The open sprint over 1200 metres recognised Max Skelton’s 80th birthday and drew a 13-horse field. Trainers John and Karen Parsons have a super strike rate on the Polytrack and MISS BRITTANY was one of four winners for the partnership on the day.

  • Earlier in the day TUMUCH had scored for the Parson’s and long-term client Peter Lyon in the Riccarton Park Function Centre Metric Mile. At $1.10 punters expected the very good galloper to win but he did get a challenge from Matthew and Michael Pitman’s talented CHARBANO.

  • Local trainer Lance Robinson is another supporter of Polytrack racing and was rewarded with three winners from the large team he started on the day. SONNET won the opening race, AVORIAZ the 1600 metres Maiden and DELPHILLIUS the rating 65 sprint.

  • Foxton trainer Suzy Gordon brought a four-horse team south and scored in the last race with HE’S A BATTLER for long time voluntary administer Roger Sugrue from the Manawatu. Promising but injury plagued apprentice Liam Kauri was the rider.

  • Gun Canterbury jokey Tina Comignaghi and Hong Kong apprentice Nicola Yuen both rode two winners on the programme.
