- The first Polytrack meeting of 2024 filled the programming role for which it was intended given there is a Feature Meeting on the Saturday. It predominantly catered for Maiden and Rating 60 horses.
- Andrew Carston combined with jockey Joe Doyle to win the days feature the VALE DJ O’SULLIVAN RATING 75 with NAMIBIA MISS. The Club was honoured to be able name a race in recognition of a true legend of the New Zealand turf Dave O’Sullivan on the day of his funeral in Matamata.
- Local trainer Terri Rae prepared two winners they being MORNING STAR in the 1200 metres maiden and ROCMONT in the 1600 metres maiden. The former was ridden by now stable apprentice Denby Tait who recorded her first winner since changing employers.
- Rangiora conditioner John Blackadder found the Polytrack a happy hunting ground taking home the best purse of the day when ZOOM won the Entain-NZB Insurance Pearl Series Race. There was a $20,000 bonus on top of the $9,520 winning stake. Blackadder backed his judgement lining up his maiden mare in the Rating 65 event who came from last to win under Jasmine Fawcett who rode two winners on the programme..
