Polytrack Racing - 7th Day Review
First Rock sets track record

  • The 31st and last Riccarton Park Meeting on 2021/22 took place Friday 29 July on the Polytrack.

  • The last say of the Riccarton Park racing season went to the Les and Richard Didham trained FIRST ROCK.  Under apprentice Megan Taylor FIRST ROOK ran the Rating 74 sprinters ragged in the last on the programme setting a new track record of 1-08.99 for the 1200 metres in the process.

  • The days other Rating 74 race went the way of DA VINCI GIRL who is becoming something of a Polytrack course specialist for training partnership Matthew and Michael Pitman. Stable apprentice Diego Montes de Oca rode the mare in the 1600 metres contest.

  • Debut runner THE BOLD LOOK was an extremely impressive winner of the Maiden 1200 with the look of a horses that will only get better with experience.  The four-year-old s raced by the famous Southland family the Dennis Brother with Tony and Ray oncourse to watch the Ross Becket trained gelding.  Stable employee Kin Kwo was the rider.

  • The seasons champion jockey Michael McNab rode two winners to further extend his season record and the Pitman partnership trained two winners on the day.
