Polytrack Racing - 10th Day Review
Te Akau make presence felt
September 02, 2022
  • A seven-race card took place at the penultimate meeting of the 11 Day Riccarton Park Polytrack Season on Thursday 1 September.

  • Punters got it right with favourites winning five of the races on offer.

  • The shortest winner was the Jamie Bullard trained OVER TO YOU who made it two from two in the south winning the NZB Insurance Pearl Series Race to return tote punters $1.30.  Former topflight jockey Jamie Bullard is starting to make a name for himself as a trainer.

  • The Te Akau Racing juggernaut continues to roll on with Mark Walker back at the helm.  Walker lined up four runners for as good a result as possible, three winners and a quinella.

  • ILLICIT MISS, ridden by stable apprentice Joe Kamaruddin, $2.30, BELLE OF THE BALL (Kamaruddin) $1.40 and CAMPIONESSA (Jason Laking) $2.00 all won with ZOULUMINOUS running second behand CAMPIONESSA.

  • Jason Laking rode two winners on the day the other being DOC MARTIN for Lance Robinson who trained BOOT IT SCOOTER to win the opening event.

  • Loyal sponsor Anne-Marie de Spa and Charles Hall received a deserved win with the fresh-up performance of KUDOS DE SOTHYS in the last.
