He's A Doozy and connections post race
  • HE’S A DOOZY landed some big bets by the Boys Get Paid Punters Club when winning the days feature the Coupland’s Bakeries Mile. Ridden by Kozzi Asano, whose parents were on course after traveling from Japan the five-year-old South Island bred is yet another stakeswinner prepared by Awapuni’s Lisa Latta.  Club Board member Susanne Dunnett shares in the ownership.

  • Two races earlier Latta had struck again with BELCLARE who won the Valachi Downs Canterbury Breeders Stakes in the hands of Michael McNab. AVAQUINELLA and FASHION SHOOT filled the minor placings.

  • Mark Walker provided the trifecta in the Riccarton Park Function Centre Welcome Stakes for the Two-year-olds.  SKY ON FIRE, the favourite and ridden by visiting Australian rider Josh Parrbeat RUBICON CROSSING and RHETORICAL.

  • Riccarton trainer Ross Beckett filled the quinella in the three-year-old race with JAFFA beating GOLDIE’S CHANCE.  Double All Black Brian McKechnie celebrated 18 years of sponsorship on the day with Halls Refrigerated Transport.

  • Shane Kennedy and Anna Furlong trained a double with BETTY SPAGHETTI and ELIZABETH ROSE.

  • Former Cantabrian Dan Stackhouse who hails from Ashburton travelled home from Australia to be the only jockey to ride a pair of winners on the day.
