Terms of Entry

Information on how to enter and other details form part of these terms & conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these terms & conditions.

  1. To participate in the Fashion In The Field competitions (Event) you must purchase an entry ticket to the raceday, 18 November 2023.
  2. If any part of the Event is cancelled, abandoned or postponed, in whole or in part, for any reason whatsoever that is beyond Canterbury Jockey Club (CJC) control, including, and without limitation, due to adverse weather conditions, no obligation is assumed by CJC for the arrangement of a substitute event. 
  3. If CJC does provide a comparable substitute Event on a rescheduled day or at a rescheduled time, the entrant is bound to accept that the Event and these terms & conditions will apply in all respects. Under no circumstances will CJC be liable to the entrant if CJC is unable to provide a comparable Event on a rescheduled day or rescheduled time. 
  4. Should adverse weather conditions prevent the competition taking place on the Tea House Lawn stage, the Event may be moved indoors to an area to be advised on the day if that is practical. 
  5. By entering this competition, you are consenting to receive further information from CJC.
  6. By entering the competitions, you are consenting to appear in advertising and publicity, where required. 
  7. The wearer(s) of the winning outfit is deemed the prize-winner(s). The winner(s) will be notified on the day by public announcement. The winner(s) are required for approximately an hour after the announcement for publicity, photos and interviews. Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in forfeiting your title and any prizes associated with the title. 
  8. Failure to appear in a heat, semi-final, the final, presentation and/ or required publicity will result in disqualification. 
  9. Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. If any prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond CJC control, CJC may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. It is at the responsibility and cost of the winner(s) to collect prize/s.
    1. All voucher prizes are subject to the terms & conditions of the company the voucher is issued for. 
    2. All prizes are not transferable or able to be exchanged. The prize-winner(s) cannot contact the company supplying the prize(s) directly without CJC consent.
    3. A full list of prizes will be available to view in the Racebook on the day 
  10. Subject to any applicable law which cannot be excluded, the promoter and any other person or party associated with the promotion shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of, or in connection with the promotion or any prize. 
  11. The promoter is the Canterbury Jockey Club. Employees or immediate family members of an employee or representative of CJC and sponsors associated with this Event are ineligible to enter.
  12. You must be over 18.
  13. You can only enter one category per person.
  14. The Ned Fashion in the Field qualifier cannot be professionally dressed or be a professional in the Racing Fashion or Millinery Field.
