- The third day of the 2026 Polytrack season at Riccarton Park, an industry meeting, was held in fine but cool conditions.
- Local Trainer Lance Robinson and his stable apprentice Kendra Bakker scored a double with BELLA LUCE in the opener the Rating 75 1600 and IRON MAIDEN in the Rating 60 1600. BELLA LUCE was having her first start on the surface after missing the chance to race at the abandoned Wingatui meeting the previous Friday. The two wins took Robinson’s total to 26 winners since the inception of the Polytrack.
- Terri Rae also trained two winners to take her Polytrack total to 18. BOSS ‘N’ HIGHHEELS won the Rating 75 1200 under apprentice Donovan Cooper and PAX MUNDI won the last with northern apprentice Sam NcNab aboard.
- ROCA MILE had a very happy part owner in Kelly Downing who had convinced her partner trainer Richard Didham to bring the gelding out of retirement for another campaign. The five-year-old won the Vale Bob Autridge Rating 65 with Floor Moerman riding. Didham’s father “Jumbo” was also a happy man being a good friend of the late Bob Autridge.
- The day also recognised the passing of long serving Ashburton administrator Trevor ‘TO’ Robertson. Nayton Mitchell’s WREN won the race named in honour of TO.
