Polytrack Racing - 3rd Day Review

Lyn Prendergast trains a double
- Trainer Lyn Prendergast stole the show on the third day of the Synthetic Track Racing Season at Riccarton Park. A day made even more rewarding as it was the first Feature Meeting on the Polytrack.
- The Wets Melton based conditioner who bring her horse to Riccarton Park to gallop won both open races on the programme. IHU fended off GOLDEN HARVEST and hot favourite CHILLY FILLY to win the Speight’s Open over the 1200 metres and two races later ORIGINAL GANGSTER (image) came from the rear to win the Open Handicap over 1600 metres. On both occasions stable jockey Kylie Williams was the rider.
- The days three-year-old race drew a small but promising field. Sabin Kirkland travelled all the way from Ascot Park in Invercargill to give BUOYANT his first look at the Polytrack and in a dominant display led all the way to beat MIA SORELLA and MR RAFIKI. Wingatui Rider Corey Campbell took the mount.
- As to be expected on a competitive Feature Day with capacity fields in 5 of the eight races new track records were set for three of the four distances raced.
