Find out what to expect when you visit Canterbury Jockey Club

We value owner involvement and it is our aim to ensure all owners, whether they are new to the industry or race-hardened veterans, enjoy the thrill of watching their horse race at Canterbury Jockey Club. If you are an owner with a horse running, we invite you to come along and enjoy your owners privileges and the excitement of your horse racing.

OWNERS QUERY

Owners accreditation entitles you and a guest to the benefits below;

  • Entrance and member area access on gate charge racedays
  • A complimentary racebook
  • Entry to the Club Grandstand where the Nightmarch and Phar Lap Rooms are open.
  • Pre-race drink in the Owner’s Pavilion (next to the Parade Ring) where all owners are invited to view their horses. The bar closes as the horses leave to enter the Birdcage
  • Access to designated  “Owners” seating in the Club Stand for your race

After each race, winning connections are invited to make their way immediately to the weigh-in area where you or another owner will be provided with a quality lead (which is kept as an owner memento) to meet your horse at the Birdcage arch and lead your horse to scale, thus providing a unique photo opportunity.

We also provide a framed photo of the win, with this memento being presented in the Chairman’s Room where you will enjoy a post-race celebratory drink.
