Summer Racing - 30 January Review

All About Magic adds to her value
- The first Saturday meeting of 2021 featuring the Speight’s Timaru Stakes.
- Four-year-old mare ALL ABOUT MAGIC increased her value winning the days feature, her second stakes success, for breeder and owner Stephanie Rathgen beating first day winner BELLE FASCINO and longshot GOODANYA. Sam Wynne rode her for the Pitman partnership. (SEE IMAGE)
- Woodlands (Southland) trainer Robert Dennis is making a name for himself and travelled MAKE BELIEVE north to win the Rating 65 sprint in the hands of Krishna Mudhoo.
- Krishna scored a brace of wins when guiding BEACHED AS BRO to beat DIORISSIMO in the Christchurch Casino Dunedin Cup Trial.
- Under-rated jockey Courtney Barnes also rode two winners YAMUNA for Matamata trainer Dan Miller and JEWEL OF PATCH for newcomer to Canterbury Henry Gillies in the D Reynolds Electrical Rating 65.
- Two-year-old races always hold interest. Inglewood Stud owned MOZZARELLA had her first start since running fourth in the Frantic Bloodstock Welcome Stakes and ran out a most impressive winner beating MACKENZIE LAD and EMANON. Tina Comignaghi partners the Nick Wigley and Kayla Milnes trained filly.
