International Women's Day produces competitive racing
- Consistent performer BATMAN bounced back from a last start defeat in Group 3 company over the metric mile to lead throughout and win the day open race, the 1400 metres gavelhouse.com Open Handicap. Stable apprentice Hayley Bennet claimed 3kg off the 63.5kg impost for trainer Neill Ridley.
- The Pitman partnership prepared three winners to continue their grand run of form this season – VINSANITY, under stable apprentice Amanada Morgan, in race 2, MAGIC NOTE, race 3 and DON’T BE CHEEKY in the last both under star northern apprentice Sam Weatherley.
- Another training partnership, Russell and daughter Ashely McKay, also continues good form winning with TAXIHOLME for senior rider Jason Laking.
- Rangiora trainer Steven Woodsford prepared two winners – SHE’S A RIPER in the Maiden 1600 and LADY BEALEY in the Sonia & Garry Thompson Rating 75.
