For the first time New Zealand will have two guaranteed starters with the Canterbury Jockey Club to run another New Zealand heat in Christchurch on Saturday October 24th.
This race also sponsored by New Zealand Bloodstock Airfreight will carry the same $5,000 Travel Credit given to each of the heat winners in New Zealand if they contest the Jericho Cup.
Manager Greg Northcott said, “NZB Airfreight are thrilled to support these two qualifying races in the lead-up to the Jericho Cup and wish all the connections the best of luck as they target this unique special race”.
Chief Executive Tim Mills advised “the CJC are delighted to be invited by Bill Gibbons (founder of the Jericho Cup) to host a qualifying race. The 3000 metre race adds yet another point of interest to the hugely exciting spring racing season at Riccarton Park”.
